SOME DISCRETE DISTRIBUTION RESULTS BASED ON GENERALIZED RESIDUAL ENTROPY

If a system has survived for some unit of time then Shannon's entropy is no longer a useful measure of uncertainty. For this reason a new type of entropy known as residual entropy has been developed by Ebrahimi (1996). In this paper we generalize the residual entropy function when the distribution function is discrete. Here we characterized the uniform distribution, geometric distribution in terms of discrete generalized residual entropy. We also develop here a new non parametric ageing class based on this newly established entropy function and study its properties.
