© 2022, Universidad del Norte. All rights reserved.The Internet of Things is transforming the world at a rapid pace. This new digital dimension allows millions of objects to be connected to the Internet, which represents opportunities to collect all kinds of information. Among the new allies of public health are smart masks and drones connected to the internet to support case monitoring and epidemiological surveillance. There is also Internet of Drones, robotics, and wearables, which are incorporated into clothing and accessories thanks to the miniaturization of sensors. Thus, the new public health will be able to count on massive data for a less reactive and more predictive public health. The purpose of this article is to reflect on the role of the Internet of Things as an ally of public health in the response and control of pandemics.
