With the commencement of shipments in December 2022,Strandline Resources has become the latest company to join the ranks of significant mineral sands suppliers.To begin with,Strandline is producing and shipping heavy mineral concentrates(HMCs)for processing elsewhere.But by mid-2023,its mineral separation plant should be in operation.At full scale,this will produce:24,000 t.p.a.of rutile/leucoxene(93% TiO2);110,000 t.p.a.of chlorinatable ilmenite(62% TiO2);34,000 t.p.a.of premium-grade zircon(66% ZrCb);and 54,000 t.p.a.of zircon-rich concentrates(also containing monazite for rare earths extraction).The company declared the Coburn mine open in mid-November 2022 and the first shipment-6500 tonnes of HMCs-was loaded at Geraldton on 20 December.The second shipment-8600 tonnes-was loaded at Geraldton on 27 January.The third shipment-10,000 tonnes-was loaded at Geraldton on 27 February.
