Framework architects for the £2bn Olympic village have been snubbed as it emerged three practices from outside the 47-strong list have been appointed to work on the scheme. It is understood that Make Architects and Ian Simpson have been appointed to design signature towers for the village, while Australian architect Bligh Voller Nield (BVN) is helping Patel Taylor on designs for two of the 14 residential "blocks". None of the practices were on the framework announced last August by developer Lend Lease. One framework architect said: "It does rather beg the question why we're on this framework at all if people who aren't on it are getting work. It was exciting to be named on the list but we're not holding our breath for the call, frankly."
