© 2022, Scibulcom Ltd.. All rights reserved.Indian Standard Medium Beam (ISMB) sections are the only type of section that are normally produced in India. The present research is focused on the influence of ISMB sections in the beam column end plate connection. A mechanical model has been created for the beam column end plate connection by discretizing the connection into individual components. It is assumed that the beam and the column sides are separately possessing distinct components in tension as well as compression region of connection. The component approach is used to envisage the moment of resistance of connection as well as forces in the individual component using Eurocode 3 provisions. The execution of component method has been done by using MATLAB program. All the possible combinations of ISMB profiles are used as beam and column in this study. The force resistant of individual component is strongly influenced by the sectional properties of I section profile. The reliability study is also executed by analysing probability of failure of the individual component, which could be calculated using Cumulative Distribution Function (CDF). The probability of failure of connection is varied since it mainly depends on the sectional properties of the beam and column.
