In an earlier article I introduced myself as a Snowbird.I move to a warmer climate whenthe cold winter arrives and in thespring I return to my home in the north.I am therefore a bonsaist with two collections: one in Connecticut on the Atlanticcoast next to the state of New York andthe other in Florida, far south very nearthe Tropic of Cancer. You can read thisintroduction in the July/August/September 2007 issue. Starting in the late fall my Connecticut plants are dormant andI bury them in my garden protected bymulch and wind breaks but open to rainand snow. They need no attention againuntil spring.
