A truck manufacturer switched most of its cab designs from the traditional stick frame to a more "automotive" monocoque construction. This significantly increased the number of material combinations that had to be fastened. Stack-ups consisted of three to four materials, including aluminum sheet, aluminum extrusions and high-strength steel. In some cases, adhesives, sealers and galvanic inhibitors were included between the layers of material.
