The UK plans to impose a temporary cap on the revenues of companies that generate electricity from renewable resources or nuclear plants, matching a similar policy adopted by the European Union. The so-called "cost-plus-revenue-limit" is intended to help the government raise funds to help struggling consumers and businesses cope with the surge in natural gas and electricity prices following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February. The government said it will consult with industry and other stakeholders over how to implement the measure, which would take effect in 2023.
