Maxon has launched a frameless brushless DC motor with a matching encoder for dynamic applications, as well as a new series of flat motors suitable for robotic and similar applications. The DT50 electronically commutated frameless motor is the precursor to a new family developed for dynamic movements. The brushless motor is especially suitable for applications where speeds can change quickly - as in robots. Despite a stator with an outer diameter of only 50mm, it delivers a nominal torque of more than 500mNm at 4,000 rpm. A new winding technology results in a short length and a 28mm hollow shaft.
