Buyers secure price concessions

Russia's state-controlled Gazprom and France's GDF Suez have agreed to link 15pc of the utility's Russian gas purchases to a European spot market price, a source close to the negotiations tells Argus. "The final agreement could be signed in early September," the source adds. The firms have also agreed to decrease "slightly" the current 9bn m3/yr minimum purchase requirement for 2010- 13. The maximum contracted volume of 10.5bn m3/yr is unchanged.
