摘要

I have been collecting suiseki for over twenty-five years and through all this time the stones' powers do not fail to amaze me; holding my total attention as I turn them this way and that, enjoying their many features. Much may be said in praise of afound art form that is as minimalist in its context as a stone. It is its very simplicity and abstraction that has held a fascination for me and other collectors. I believe that one of the reasons for such a strong attraction has to do with the layers of aesthetic complexity unique to the art and Japanese culture.
