摘要

THE MYTH OF 100% WATER COVERAGE in the UnitedStates and Canada was shattered in 2020. That research, led by University of Oregon Associate Professor KatieMeehan and 22 experts, showed that many householdsrely on water sources that are expensive, unsafe, unreliable, and inaccessible. Water insecurity is morecommon for renters and people living in mobile homes, for disaster migrants and others living in substandardhousing, for American Indians and First Nations, forBlack and Hispanic communities, and for peopleliving in colonias and disadvantaged unincorporatedcommunities. How to serve these water-insecurecommunities is a wickedproblem: it’s social and political, complex and ever-changing, andclear causes and solutions arehard to isolate.
