In Memoriam

Professor Jan Maria Wojcicki, the Editor-in-Chief of the journal of Biocybernetics and Biomedicai Engineering, who was also a great scientist, excellent science organizer and wonderful man, passed away unexpectedly on December 28th, 2013.Professor Jan Maria Wojcicki was born in fcodz on June 24the, 1946. He received his Masters and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Electrical Faculty of the Warsaw University of Technology in 1970 and 1978, respectively. In 1975 he joined a newly established Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedicai Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences, where he started his scientific career in biomedicai engineering. He was one of the pioneers of this scientific discipline in Poland.
