In 1995 I bought a small clump of Ficus benjamina 'Little Lucy,' created by putting a bunch of cuttings into a pot that was no more than 3 % inches in diameter. The cuttings had begun to fuse together, and by July 1998 they were ready for a larger oval pot (Figure 1). Ficus are notorious for having a root mass almost as large as the canopy, so I could not ignore repotting. The tallest trunks were shortened and the cuttings were potted. Ficus root readily, so one of the larger cuttings was stuck at the left in the soil in the pot to create another trunk. Two more cuttings were put in small pots, to be added to the main pot later.
