This article concludes a look at Colin Lewis's Ho Yoku School of Bonsai. As before, four of students Laurel Raferty, Mike Pollock, Peter Keane, and Richard Bozek have provided their answers to the questions possed. Laurel: From Colin, I think the mostimportant "gem" was the idea that making a beautiful bonsai is a long term process, that the instant "workshop" type styling is the first step. For example, good ramification and branch taper are essential components of a fine bonsai, and they take persistent work over several years.
