Sierad Produce: Creating a new face

Between 1998 and 2000 Sierad Produce, one of only a handful of integrators in Indonesia, went through a restructuring exercise as a result of the Asian crisis in 1997 that caused the poultry industry to collapse. After that, the industry began to recover and stabilise and by 2002, Sierad's management began to debate on the course of action, to take the company through the next phase of growth. "We rode the tide during the Asian crisis in 1997. When the Indonesian rupiah was devalued, we had a lot ofimported raw material in stock and it was this that saved us," Director, Awi Tantra told Asian Poultry Magazine.
