Soybean meals are not all the same!

Atrial was conducted in at BARC (Bangkok Animal Research Centre), Thailand from 22 January - 2 March, 2008 to evaluate the effect of four major soybean meal types and formulated with two sets of nutrient specifications on performance of male broiler chickens fed corn-cassava-soybean meal diets. Seven hundred and sixty eight (768) newly hatched male broiler chicks (Arbor Acres Plus) were randomly allocated to eight treatments arranged as a 4x2 factorial in randomized complete block experiment, each treatment with six replications. Four major soybean meal types (Indian non-dehulled, Argentina dehulled, Soon Soon dehulled and USA dehulled) and their specifications (US sbm specification and individual NIR based specifications) were the two factors tested in the study. Sixteen male birds in a pen were used as an experimental unit.
