Euroconstruct, the loose association of 19 research organisations in 19 European countries, has released its six-monthly report on the European construction market. It has found that the total construction output within the Euroconstruct zone declined slightly, with the new-build non-residential sector experiencing the largest fall. The market was weakest in Germany, the Netherlands and Portugal and strongest in Britain and Spain. The outlook for the period 2004-06 is for moderate growth, ranging from about 1% this year to 2.3% in 2006.
