Effect of a nonabsorbable lipid, sucrose polyester, on the absorption of DDT by the rat

When sucrose polyester replaced half of the dietary soybean oil fed to rats, it reduced the absorption of ingested [14C]DDT by two‐thirds compared to that of animals that received only soybean oil as the dietary fat. DDT absorption was determined by measuring [14C]DDT in the thoracic duct lymph, fat, liver, and feces of the animals.
