Audiometry will be an ongoing task in almost all occupational health departments. There is a need for sophisticated audiometers to measure accurately the hearing losses within the workforce. There is also a need to analyse the information produced and to store that information for future use. So far it has been possible to measure the hearing losses reasonably well and to analyse that information inpartwithin the audiometer. It has not been possible to store this information except as a paper copy. The BAI2 allows data transfer to a microcomputer, which in turn allows full analysis and data handling facilities such as recalls.
