ASIAN acrylonitrile buyers and producers were plunged in anxiety last week over the possible implications of the Chinese government's new regulation banning imports of acrylonitrile via the Yangtze river from 1 June because of environmental concerns.Producers of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS)based in Zhenjiang,Jiangsu province,are likely to be the worst affected since their imported acrylonitrile feedstock is often shipped down the river.
