Through its eclectic mix of aviation and motoring, Wings and Wheels has been a firm favourite on the calendar, both locally and nationally. It is therefore sad that the 15th edition - the date of which was brought forward to June in order to secure the Red Arrows before they head to North America - was the last such event, but it did go out on a high. Stand-out highlights included a pyrotechnic-accompanied airfield attack by Mark Petrie and Ollie Suckling flying a pair of Strikemasters and a wonderfully smooth solo by Andy Durston in Fighter Aviation Engineering's P-47D Thunderbolt Nellie B. Dunsfold's tradition of special formation flypasts was continued by the pairing of B-17G Sally B and the home-based C-47A Skytrain from Aces High to mark the 75th anniversary of D-Day.
