Two well-attended Tucson metric system outreach events

The 2023 Southern Arizona Regional Science and Engineering Fair (SARSEF) was held at the Gene C. Reid Regional Park in Tucson, AZ, on 11 and 12 March 2023. The event was well attended with an estimated 250 visitors to the USMA booth. Visitor favorites were the NIST SI Superheroes and Base Units handouts, and the USMA astronomy-themed metric paper rulers. Numerous K-12 teachers stopped by, and we received invitations to teach metric in classrooms at the Sonoran Science Academy, and to host a booth at the Mary Belle McCorkle Academy of Excellence convention on 5 May 2023. Connections were made with other STEM organizations, including the SciTech Institute, Planetary Science Institute, and the Vatican Observatory Foundation.
