Efficacy of diafenthiuron 50WP and thiamethoxam 25WG was evaluated against whitefly in brinjal during 2017 and2018 at Entomological Research Farm, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. Diafenthiuron 50WP proved quite effective in controlling the whitefly population during both the years. The population of whitefly was significantly lower in treatments diafenthiuron 50WP @ 500 and 600 g/ha being at par with each other followed by lower dose of diafenthiuron 50WP, thiamethoxam 25WG @ 100, 150 and 200 g/ha and malathion 50EC @ 625 ml/ha (Chemical check). Fruit yield was significantly higher in diafenthiuron 50WP @ 500 and 600 g/ha followed by lower dose of diafenthiuron 50WP, thiamethoxam 25WG and malathion 50EC. Higher per cent yield increase overcontrol and avoidable yield losses were recorded in higher doses of diafenthiuron 50WP. The net returns over control in diafenthiuron 50WP @ 500 g/ha were also better than thiamethoxam 25 WG and malathion 50EC.
