A look back at past 20 years

The actual development of production of Finished products during the years 1985 - 1995 - 2005 demonstrates fundamental changes in the growth trends of this industry at the level of the geographical concentrations. We may specify these trends as follows: In 1985 the countries of the Arabian Maghreb occupied the first rank. Their production amounted to 1.885 million tons, about 38.2 percent of the total production which amounted at the Arab level to 4.94 million tons. These countries are followed by the Arabian Gulf countries and the countries of the Arabian Mashreq with 1.205 million tons or 24.4 percent.
