Global crude runs have been buoyed by robust refining margins and are well up on this time last year. Even in the US, where refinery maintenance and winter storms have shut in capacity, throughputs in January-February were almost 200,000 b/d higher than a year earlier. While a crude surplus persists - adding 60mn bl to US inventories this year - there is little sign yet of bloated products stocks, despite the increase in refinery runs.
