Russia forecast to produce 67mt of crude steel in 2011

Russia is forecast to produce 67m tonnes of crude steel and 57.5mt of finished steel products in 2011, both up roughly 5% on 2010 levels, Steel Business Briefing learns from the Russian ministry for industry and trade. The forecasts are linked to the rate of growth of gross domestic product (GDP) in Russia, which is expected to slightly exceed 4% this year, SBB understands.
