Arab Steel 2006: Continuity Of Growth

More than one impression were left by the Arab Steel Conference 2006 organized by the Arab Iron and Steel Union in Abu Dhabi in the period 6-8 March 2006. Perhaps at the top of these impressions suggesting the upturn of this industry in the Arabian Gulf region is what was transmitted to the hearing of the participating delegates through the working papers presented in this conference on the new projects and new expansions intended to be executed by the Arab steel companies during the next years, which will double the existing production capacities. This conference was an opportunity to get acquainted with a number of the new projects the news of some of which leaked through the scenes of this conference and some of which were talked about in public. Attention was more attracted to knowing the dates of the execution of these projects, because it has become important to know the time schedule of execution and not just announcing the project.
