KPC Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Petroplus for the Acquisition of its Tango Service Stations in the Netherlands

Petroplus International NV announced on 9 January that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the sale of its Tango service stations in the Netherlands to Kuwait Petroleum Nederland BV,a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC).Under the agreement,Kuwait Petroleum has the exclusive right to negotiate the purchase for a limited period.A final agreement would require the approval of the relevant authorities.The "Tank and Go" (Tango) chain of automated filling stations was inaugurated in the Netherlands in 2000.Since then,Tango has expanded its network to 62 outlets in that country,in addition to which it has three in operation and one under construction in Belgium and has a pilot filling station under construction in Spain.Petroplus has total refining capacity of 270,000 b/d in Europe and controls sales of 20 million tons/year of refined products.
