Banking on a turnaround

New mines from Vectren, White Oak and others could add 1mn short tons/yr (907,184 metric tonnes/yr) in supply to the basin in the second half of this year. More capacity will be added next year, if White Oak's longwall operation and Alliance Resource Partners' Gibson South mine come into commercial operation as expected.
