National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC), which is 40% owned by the emirate of Abu Dhabi, has won a contract from Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) for the construction of four artificial islands close to the offshore Upper Zakum oil field. The contract is worth Dh 2.3 billion ($626.7 million) and forms part of the further development program for the field that is being undertaken by Zakum Development Company (Zadco), a joint venture between ADNOC (60%), ExxonMobil (28%) and Japan Oil Development Company (Jodco), a subsidiary of Inpex Corporation (12%).
