The arrival of an initial cargo of Saudi crude in February marked the inauguration of the QingLamShan oil terminal, which serves the Fujian oil refinery in China, Saudi Aramco has announced. The terminal is capable of accommodating giant tankers of 300,000 dwt and serves the refining-and-petrochemical complex of Fujian Refinery and Petrochemical Co. Ltd. (FREP), a joint venture between Fujian Petrochemical Co. Ltd. (FPCL - 50%), Saudi Aramco Sino Co. Ltd. (25%) and ExxonMobil China Petroleum and Petrochemical Co. Ltd. (25%). The cargo of 900,000 barrels of Arabian Extra Light crude was dispatched from Ras Tanura aboard the tanker Cosbright Lake. FPCL is 50% owned by China Petroleum & Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec) and 50% by the government of the province of Fujian.
