European manganese alloy market consolidates

The average weighted European benchmark price for SiMn (65 Mn; 17 Si)has risen by 5 to EUR 1,073/t DDP in September. That for HC FeMn (75)has dropped slightly from EUR 1,227/t DDP to EUR 1,218/t.Demand has been strong during the quarterly contracting in the regional marketdue to positive outlook for the consuming industry. SiMn prices have beensupported by the sharp increase in silicon product offers, mostly FeSi ones, inearly September. FeMn prices have been stable amid healthy supply. Contractprices have dropped by 3 quarter-on-quarter.
