Strong demand and higher inputs to push up Mn alloy prices

The prices for import SiMn (70 Mn; 17 Si) amounted to some EGP 24,500/tDDP ($1,380/t) in Egypt in December. Local FeMn (75 Mn) is priced at aroundEGP 30,250/t DDP ($1,700/t).The quotes for Indian SiMn which has a big share in North Africanmarket will keep coming up. Indian SiMn (65 Mn; 16 Si) prices reachedsome $1,175/t FOB (up $60/t week-on-week) in mid-December. Further priceincrease will help recover producers’ margin and compensate for higherraw material cost.
