This month, prices for SiMn (65 Mn; 17 Si) in the USA have gone up by around $80/t to $1,451/t ($0.658/lb) DDP, after the decrease by $21/t in August, and those for HC FeMn (75 Mn) - by $52/t to $1,423/t DDP, after the decrease by $16/t in August. The upturn in global manganese ore prices, firm demand, and the upcoming Q4 contracting are pushing the quotes up in the country. SiMn was even offered at around $1,488/t in the first week of September, but demand was lower than merchants expected, so the quotes of the material with prompt delivery have eventually rolled back.
