Rise in Cr prices to slow down

Moderately optimistic sentiments prevailed in the global Cr market in June, supported by rather positive dynamics in China and favourable situation in the consumption industry. Meanwhile, further rise in alloy prices in China (by 2) was driven by lower output of the material due to ecological inspections in a number of key provinces. Encouraged by higher prices in Asia and citing a lack of high-quality products with prompt delivery, European suppliers mostly preferred to stabilize prices, revising them upward in certain cases to test the market. The increase in alloy prices in China affected the Indian and Japanese markets the most, where HC FeCr prices added more than 8 and 5 respectively. Cr ore sellers managed to inch up quotes only at the beginning of the month, but still excessive stocks of the material at Chinese ports prevent prices in the segment from rising.
