Argentine regulators hike ethanol again.

Argentina's Energy Secretariat announced on July 6 that ethanol prices for the country's refiners would be increased by up to 5 in July. Sugarcane-based ethanol has been hiked to 9.437 ARS/L ($1.04/L), up 5 from 8.987 ARS in June. Corn-based ethanol was hiked by only 2, from 7.032 ARS/L in June to 7.171 ARS/L (10.79/L) in July. The state's refiners, which are required to buy ethanol to meet a 10 gasoline blending mandate, will along with ethanol producers be most affected by the change. The country's biggest refiner is YPF, followed by Bridas' Axion Energy, Shell, Oil Cumbustibles, and Petrobras.
