Spot crude prices fell in the week to July 17, in line with decreases posted by the US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) benchmark. The cash complex mostly weakened for the fifth week in a row. Prices for LLS dropped $2.15/bbl to $54.79/bbl, while HLS decreased $1.97/bbl to $53.49/bbl. Prices for WTI (Midland) slid $1.20/bbl to $51.94/bbl, while WTS fell $1.35/bbl to $52.39/bbl.
