摘要

Radars, transmitters and especially mobile phones are artificial sources of high-frequency electromagnetic field (HF EMF). Moreover, the number of mobile phone users is rapidly rising. Mechanical oscillations of mobile ions resulting in electric currents produce heat. These thermal effects of HF EMF are relatively well known. Non-thermal effects are still discussed, e.g. possible genotoxicity, cancerogenity (connection is proved in retinoblastoma and leukaemia). Probably there is also an effect of HF EMF on the nervous tissue, induction on nerve fibres, influence on ion channels, other neuronal membrane proteins and synaptic transmission. Results of many experimental studies are concentrated on investigation of the influence of HF EMF on neural function, but they are ambiguous and even contradictory. These studies used normal, healthy experimental objects. However, CNS already affected by some disease or handicap can respond differently to the stimulation than the healthy system.
