Dow Chemical posts better-than-expected 4Q

U.S. chemical giant Dow Chemical Co. recently released its fourth-quar- ter and full-year earnings results.The Midland, Mich.-based com- pany reported a better-than-expected fourth quarter, posting a net income of $3.5 billion, up from $734 million the same period a year ago. However, sales were down 20% at $11.5 billion vs. $14.4 billion a year ago due to local price declines, the company said.
