MOL works with Japanese institutes to prevent collisions

Japanese shipping group Mitsui OSK Lines announced it has signed a contract, in December 2019, with three institutions to conduct a joint study to prevent ship collisions. The three research partners are MOL Marine; the National Maritime Research Institute of the National Institute of Maritime, Port, and Aviation Technology; and Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology. The research will also include autonomous vessels that require minimal manning at the bridge.
