This is primarily caused by the fact that brisker shipments of agri products offset the lack of fresh offers of another popular cargo, steel products. Traditionally for the pre-holiday period, charterers get dominated by the excitement, fearing not to find a vessel before the holidays; therefore, any rate drop is now certainly out of question. The situation is the most difficult for charterers looking for 3-4k dwt vessels as owners of such fleet are extremely bullish, supported by the extremely strong Azov sea-river market.
