Eneos to Close Wakayama Refinery Next Autumn

Leading oil retailer Eneos Corp.is planning an October 2023 closure of its refinery in Wakayama,Japan.The refinery's heavy oil cracking capacity is an order of magnitude smaller than that provided by other refineries.What is more,the location is becoming less competitive over time,having been in operation for over 80 years and running now at a deficit.These factors have in turn brought about the decision to shutter the refinery.
