Iran’s billet prices slide in deals to Asia

Iranian billet exporters continue to decrease prices due to the downtrend in the global market. Some deals have beenrecently concluded with Asian customers, which are the target audience for Iran these days amid US sanctions.The latest billet offers from Iranian mills were coming for February shipment at $370?385/t FOB versus $395?400/tFOB in the second half of December. The workable level, however, is estimated at $365?375/t FOB, sources say. CISprices dropped by $10/t to $440?450/t CFR in Asia over the week, adding pressure on Iranian exporters and forcingthem to display more flexibility in negotiations, Metal Expert learnt.
