Major Chinese steelmaker Hebei Jingye Steel Group started commercial production at its newly launched spiral welded pipe mill in late August. The project construction was started in March this year in order to support the utilization rates of the company’s HRC rolling capacities.on August 3, Hebei Jingye Precision Tube Co. made frst spiral welded pipe as part of trial production, while commercial output started late last month. The frst phase of the project includes six lines, while two more are expected to be launched later. The new mill’s total capacity is estimated at around 200,000 tpy. “There are many projects in China and overseas, which need welded pipes now,” an export sales manager told Metal Expert.
