Italy’s car sales affected by political turmoil in august

Passenger cars sales in Italy declined in August, being mostly affected by the political instability in the country, which may have further impact of the local car market.Cars registrations in Italy fell by 3.11% in August to 88,939 units year-on-year partially because of one less working day. However, the main issue was the political unrest in the country. “Besides the fact that August itself is a month with traditionally low volumes, the impact of the government crisis may have affected the purchasing decisions. We therefore hope that the country will achieve political stability as soon as possible avoiding a climate of uncertainty,” Paolo Scudieri, President of ANFIA said.
