FEEDING the country. That is the job of the American vegetable grower. While striving to do their jobs, growers encounter many challenges along the way. But, as Paul Allen, who co-owns R.C. Hatton Farms in Florida with Roger Hatton, one of American Vegetable Grower's (AVG) Top 100 Growers in the Southeast put it, growers are survivors. There are challenges, but growers focus on success to find ways to get around those proverbial roadblocks. AVG asked Allen about some of the challenges he is facing, how the operation is working to overcome those challenges, and the future of the industry. Here is what he had to say.
