Brazil’s mining agency seeks extension for Brumadinho probe

Brazilian National Mining Agency (ANM) may extend the investigations into the causes of Vale’s deadly dam rupture in Brumadinho until January 2020.The secretary of Geology and Mining of the Ministry of Mines and Energy Alexandre Vidigal de oliveira stated that the ANM investigations should have been extended for another 180 days before the original deadline, which would end in August, due to the complexity of the case and the diffculty of accessing the disaster area, local media reported.
