Henan Yixiang's alumina project approved by SEPA on environmental basis

Yixiang Aluminum Co., Ltd, located at Mianchi County of Henan Province, said the environmental assessment on its alumina project was recently approved by the State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA). The company is a subsidiary of Henan Yima Coal (Group) Co., Construction of the company's alumina project started in 2001 and the project with capacity of 100,000tpy came on stream in February 2004. Through upgrade and expansion, the company's alumina capacity will increase to 300,000tpy in October 2005. However, the project was blacklisted by the SEPA in April this year as the company did not conduct environmental assessment on the project and did not submit the assessment report to the SEPA.
