Aluminum Industry' Group Of China (AIGC) on September 1-2 held a standing meeting in Lanzhou city of Gansu province, reviewing the operation result for Hi this year, making analysis on the situation and problems facing its members and predicting the future movement on aluminum industry, Mr. Luo Jianchuan, vice president of Aluminum Corporation of China(Chinalco), made a work report at the meeting. He said, in the first half of 2005, all the members of AIGC, whose combined primary aluminum capacity accounts for 75 percent of China's total, produced 2.777 million tonnes of primary aluminum, an 15.1 percent increase year-on-year, 400,000 tonnes aluminum semis, a 27 percent growth year-on-year, 65,000 tonnes fluoride salts, up by 22.5 percent year-on-year, 930,000 tonnes carbon used in aluminum industry, increasing by 67 percent year-on-year.
